Frequently Asked Questions

What is the SportsNutrition4U.com program?

SportsNutrition4U.com offers this program to help people better understand the extensive and often conflicting information that relates to their “better” health and performance. Existing health care systems sometimes make it difficult to satisfy individual needs and health questions, especially concerning preventative wellness issues. Furthermore, physicians are somewhat hesitant to take the necessary time to advise you on preventative health since insurance companies do not pay doctors for this preventive health. Additionally, insurance companies are not inclined to reimburse you for time spent keeping you healthy versus time spent treating existing conditions. In addition, when specific health problems are identified, it is often difficult to know which way to turn for relief.

Many athletes do not have access to professional coaches and dieticians on a year-around basis. Often, the information regarding the 'best way to train and eat' is conflicting at best and contraindicated at worst. We can provide you the professional assistance you need on a year-around or part-time basis.

This program is intended to support your relationship with your personal physician, strength and conditioning coach and dietician if they are available to you. The SportsNutrition4U.com faculty, made up of regional and nationally known experts, will be readily available to provide information and direction in order to help you answer your health questions. Our organization does not practice medicine nor prescribe medicines, but it assists you by providing a trusted single source for answers to your particular needs.

Can the SportsNutrition4U.com exercise program be done just three times a week if I have the time? What about just once a week when I'm really busy?

New guidelines from the American College of Sports Medicine suggest strength training three or four times a week. Be sure to give your muscles at least one day of rest between workouts. Three sessions is what is often prescribed because it will confer benefits and is also quite manageable from a time perspective. However, if you have the time to do the program four times per week, you will gain the following benefits:

· More stimuli to the bones
· Extra physical activity—important for overall good health
· Strengthening muscles a bit more (and more quickly)
· More Cardiovascular benefits

If you do decide to do the program three times per week, just make sure they are on non-consecutive days, such as Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If you can only do the program one day per week when your schedule gets hectic that is certainly better than nothing. But we recommend you try to get in four days per week whenever possible.
