Megan Parish
Megan Parish is a graduate student in Dietetics at Vanderbilt University. Megan Parish earned her bachelor of science degree at Texas Tech University majoring in Nutrition. Until recently, Megan was employed by the Texas Tech University Athletic Department as the Assistant Sports Nutritionist to Aaron Shelley. After completing her Master's degree, Megan plans to complete a dietetics internship to obtain her registered dietician certification.
As the Assistant Sports Nutritionist, Megan performed nutritional assessments and counseled university athletes in skills and steps necessary for creating an adequate and healthy diet. Megan performed body fat screenings and monitored client progress in meeting goals for reduction. Furthermore, Megan managed the Sports Nutrition 4U website. This entailed researching and verifying the validity of every article before being placed on the website and writing many articles herself. She was in charge of ensuring that accurate information was displayed for each entrée in the athletic dining halls as well.
Megan was an active member of Texas Tech’s Optimal Performance Committee, which strives to educate student-athletes on healthy eating habits for best possible performance.
